All I can say is WOW. In the last 40+ hours of our campaign, more than $4,000 came in from 33 donors to put us over the top and then some. In the end, we blew past our goal, raising $11,430 (counting an employer match that was not included in the Indiegogo totals). Thank you to everyone who made this possible!
We’ll be following up with all of our donors individually, but I want to briefly thank a few folks in particular. First, I want to acknowledge our contributors at the Founding Sponsor level, MailChimp and Pamela York Klainer, without both of whom it would have been much harder for this campaign to meet its goal. You’ll be seeing their sponsor credits on our About page when we relaunch. Thomas Cott, Diane Ragsdale, Nina Simon, and Andrew Taylor all enhanced our campaign in special ways by either recording videos of support or donating items for us to offer as perks, and provided invaluable “social proof” for this enterprise. Our entire network of people who have been directly involved with Createquity came through huge, both contributing and spreading the word: 100% of our editorial team donated, along with many of our former Writing Fellows and guest bloggers, and we also received amazing support from coworkers, bosses, and current and former interns. And finally, I want to give a special thank you to my fellow editorial team member Jackie Hasa, who was incredibly helpful and effective in managing the campaign from behind the scenes.
There’s no time to sit back and savor the moment: all this while as the campaign has been going on, we’ve been hard at work planning an editorial retreat that is set to take place this weekend. Stay tuned for more announcements as we start to put these resources into action. We promise it will be money well spent.
