New Blogs!
Here’s this week’s crop of newly added blogs….enjoy!
Creative Class Exchange
If you’re reading Createquity and don’t know the name of Richard Florida, then you have some catching up to do. The celebrity professor is the originator of so-called “creative class theory” and now teaches at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management. This is the official blog of his consulting firm, Creative Class Group. I recommend following him on Twitter as well: @Richard_Florida. (Note: long blog post about Florida coming soon, I promise.)
Music as Weapon?
This infrequently updated but still fabulous blog is written by my buddy David T. Little, who is the founder of the Newspeak Ensemble and writes some extraordinary music. David posts about politics, heavy metal, composing, and random awesomeness like this.
New Music Strategies
From across the pond comes this extremely useful blog on the music business, with particular attention to digital promotion and revenue streams. The target audience is independent musicians, but much of the content is applicable to other kinds of artists as well. The author is consultant and writer Andrew Dubber.
Paul Brest
Paul Brest is the President of the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, where I completed my MBA internship last summer. He writes at Huffington Post on a range of philanthropy issues, including the recent National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy report, strategic giving, organizational effectiveness, and the like. He claims to be taking a bit of a break after his most recent piece, which is unfortunate for the rest of us, but hopefully he’ll be back very soon.
